"great trail run" (about: 2019)

This is a low key event in the beautiful remote mountains of New Hampshire. The proceeds go to the Special Olympics and the trail so to maximize their gift no money is wasted on extraneous items. This is part of the beauty of this race.

This run requires you to focus on your foot placement. This is a true trail run with plenty of rocks, roots and mud. The terrain is one of the factors that make this such a great course.

The course has a lot of up and down because it's in the mountains. That also makes the course great. This is a small (68 50k finishers),low key, no frills event which also makes this a great experience. It's very straightforward. Yet it still comes with a lot of logistical challenges. There are 75 runners out in the mountains over a 32 mile course and a separate 23k race going at the same time. They all needed support and course markings. These challenges were organized beautifully. This complex course was perfectly marked and supported. Thanks to RD Josh Dillingham and the volunteers.

This is state 30 for me and I would highly recommend it.

"I really enjoyed this race" (about: 2007)

I had a lot of fun running this race and it was a great introduction to both trail marathoning and ultramarathoning for me.

The course was beautiful, organization was great during the race but a little lacking ahead of time (apparently the person with the email address died a few weeks before hand so you can't really blame them there) and I only gave spectators 1 star because the course isn't really laid out to make it easy for people to watch and very few came out to do so. The volunteers were awesome, though, which is good since I went 3 hours without seeing anybody except for the volunteers and a pair of hikers.

"Hilly, challenging trail run" (General Comments)

COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 1

Excellent trail run with 50k and 1/2 marathon options. The trails are easier than average for New England but the climbing and descending are pretty hard, so this is no stroll on the beach. Food was good and the volunteers did a fine job. The long sleeve t-shirt is a personal favorite. If you like long trail races you'll definitely like this one.
