 "Poorly Managed Race" (about: 2017)

COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 1 FANS: 1 This is a small no-frills marathon, which is fine...but the race director has not posted the final results from 2017. The race finished 12 days ago, and still nothing. I have contacted the RD twice through two different methods of email, and one time through social media and zero response. Others have asked on social media as well. It is a shame because the people and volunteers of this race are great, but there is zero excuse why you cannot provide the results to 40 runners. I could have collected the results by hand and sent them out within an hour after the race via pdf, that is how small this race is. They also made a tremendous fuss about tearing the foam timing chip off the backside of my bib. As I crossed the finish line, the officials literally took my bib off my shirt and mangled the timing chip off the back so badly that it tore a hole in my bib. I know it doesn't seem like much, but after 40 marathons I have collected every single one of my bibs for display, #41 now has a gaping hole in the middle of it. And for no reason, it's not like I was going to walk back across the timing mat? Even so, they don't post the results anyway? This marathon is in its 30th year and you would guess it's their inaugural year. | |
