From first-timers to seasoned veterans, kids to grandparents, nonbinary competitors to paratriathletes, the Chicago Triathlon has an experience for everyone on the shores of Lake Michigan. Meet us at the start line on August 24-25, 2024.&nbsp;<h4>Event details and schedule</h4> The Kids Tri Chicago is the perfect launching pad for a youngster to break into the sport and the kick-off event of the Chicago Triathlon weekend. The swim takes place in Lake Michigan at Chicago&rsquo;s Foster Beach, including a shallow water start, parallel to the beach. Every Move for MDS walk is more than a way to raise the funds that allow The MDS Foundation to do its critical work. It’s also a healthy day of outdoor family activity with lots of ways to have a good time: From yard games and caricature artists to photobooths, kid-friendly activities and more.
If you’ve been to past Move for MDS events, you know that they are close-knit celebrations of community. Each one is an opportunity to meet, share ideas, ask questions and take courage from people who are all in the same boat. It’s an invaluable way to learn about local Centers of Excellence, where to get help, and strategies for care and living.

Ball, Breast and Butterfly, our triathlon relay team name, is a description of the types of cancer that the three of us are respectively battling - testicular, breast and thyroid (the thyroid gland often being described as butterfly-shaped). As active people before our cancer odysseys began, we are doing the Chicago Triathlon to continue our active lives both symbolically and in actuality. We all are doing well at this point in our care and we celebrate our good fortune. We also celebrate our good fortune to have access to and the means to afford excellent healthcare. In service to those that don’t, we are raising money for an American Cancer Society program that provides travel and transportation grants to those who are less financially fortunate and need to travel to receive their cancer care. 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon: Runners to learn selection status

The Bank of America Chicago Marathon will notify runners today of their selection status for the 2025 event. The race, which is the final event in the Bank of America Chicago Distance Series, continues to see unprecedented interest with more than 160,000 individuals applying for a chance to participate. Those who secure an entry into the race will join another record-breaking field with more than 53,000 participants expected to cross the finish line in Grant Park on Sunday, October 12, 2025.
