The course is point to point and fast and flat.  The first 14 miles are on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and the last 12 miles are on the Va. Beach mainland, finishing on the scenic boardwalk.

Murphy-Holdsworth team take third in relay division

Several runners from the Eastern Shore of Virginia participated in the second annual Anthem Bay Bridge Marathon Sunday. Of the local runners the team of Susan Murphy and Martha Holdsworth were the only ones to receive trophies.

Second annual Anthem Bay Bridge Marathon

Russians dominated the second annual Anthem Bay Bridge Marathon.  Defending champion Mikhail Knobotov won the race in 2:26:52.  Andrey Kuznetsov, 45, was second in 2:37:29. Teammates Victoria Zveva, 20, and Tatyana Maslova, 37, were the top two women. with times of 2:45:51 and 2:54:44 respectively.

For its second running, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Marathon Marathon will feature a relay team option, where two runners can split the race in half.
