(about: 2019) 6-10 previous marathons \| 1 Spring Chance BQ.2 Marathon COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 Having been so close to a qualifying time in the past, I had to change something. Firstly, I chose this marathon having read wonderful reviews of the course and, I must confirm, the course is as a perfect loop as advertised; as flat as you'll get. Secondly, I had to follower a pacer for most of the race to keep me on track (and not get carried away too soon); the pacer were amazing. Finally, the organizers and everyone involved is so wonderfully friendly! Everyone wants you to succeed. Believe me when I say that this is the platform for that BQ of yours!

(about: 2019) 11-50 previous marathons \| 1 Spring Chance BQ.2 Marathon COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 Volunteers and pacers were fantastic. I qualified for Boston and I would recommend the BQ.2 marathons for anyone trying to qualify. I also ran Grand Rapids BQ.2 last fall. Qualified then as well but missed the cutoff. That won't happen this year. I'm in. Thank you Geneva Spring Chance BQ 2!!
Danny Scallions from USA (4/14/2019) "Great race experience" (about: 2019) 4-5 previous marathons \| 3 Spring Chance BQ.2 Marathons COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 You learn to appreciate certain things when it comes to marathon races. The logistics of getting to the starting line, not being impeded by slower runners that line up in the wrong corrals, courses that are over challenging or too "boring", etc. The BQ.2 events are perfectly designed to make for a great race experience and after running it 3 times, I have not one single complaint. Thanks to all the race organizers, volunteers and crews for making this such a positive experience!

You never had to guess where anything was and you always knew what was next. The water bottle tables were perfect. Pacing teams were amazing. Running loops helped mentally because counting down from 8 goes a lot faster. Overall an amazing race and helped me achieve a dream come true.
james miller from FL (4/14/2019) "perfect for a BQ effort" (about: 2019) 50+ previous marathons \| 1 Spring Chance BQ.2 Marathon COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 3 Compliments and kudos to the intent of this race - which IS to give you a great shot at qualifying for Boston and as it is a small 3 miles loop course, you could hear the announcers all the time congratulating another BQer....this note is to give kudos to the JPond Pacers I was lucky enough to run with...Carla - great pace setting and wonderful with chat and knowing when to encourage and when to go quiet; to Mindy - the best enthusiast on the course for all and a stylish commentator as well and thanx for Jean, for as I faded at the end, she made a point to come back for the last half mile to take it home with me so I didn;t finish alone - it was enough to make a grown man cry...and then at turn 3 there was my dear pretty patient passionate pacer who promised she would see me in and with her turn cones in hand, did just that as she was with me over the bridge for turn 4 and the home stretch...having run Boston 15 times, I wasn't there to qualify - but to enjoy the race and leave with another marathon memory and great stories and I did!!

(about: 2019) 6-10 previous marathons \| 1 Spring Chance BQ.2 Marathon COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 This race is well run, from packet pickup to finishing the race. The volunteers are very encouraging and helpful. The course was well marked (uneven surface and turns with the help of staff) and enjoyable. Truely everything was perfect which allows the runner to focus on their own performance.

None of the perceived drawbacks really exist. 8 loops, not bad. People said there are some hills... What? I found them in the 6th loop. They weren't there before. Pacers, bottles, high chance for perfect weather. Organization was the best.

(about: 2019) 6-10 previous marathons \| 1 Spring Chance BQ.2 Marathon COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 I wasn't sure if I would like a looped course, but this was perfect!! It was predictable and easy for spectators. The water bottle tables were so nice to have!!! Everything was well organized and fun! I am still 3:21 away from a BQ, but pulled off a 13 min PR! I will definitely be back!!
