 "This is a good 1st time marathon experience." (General Comments)
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 5 This was my first marathon. I have since run 6 marathons and can compare the experiences. Definitely wear a good pair of shoes. NYC is paved with asphalt over cement (very hard on feet). The pre-race expo is great for meeting fellow runners. . . you have a long wait in line. But everyone is so friendly. Specators line the streets as you run through each borough. They show you a little bit of their 'culture' as you run. . . After running across the finish line, a medal is put over your head, and a special blanket is wrapped around you. The entire experience makes you feel like a runner! | |

 "Great marathon" (about: 1999)
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 This is a great marathon. From beginning to end there are lots of people cheering the runners. The organization is spectacular considering the quantity of people that run. You only have to take one precaution which is for the cold at the start of the race. |
