FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

7th Annual Lewis & Clark Marathon and Half Marathon
Offers More to More Participants

St. Charles, Missouri ? On Sunday, September 14th, the participants in the
seventh annual Lewis & Clark Marathon will explore the territories of St.
Louis County and St. Charles County. The event, hosted by FLEET FEET Sports
and presented by New Balance, includes a marathon (26.2 miles) and half
marathon (13.1 miles), both of which will start at the Verizon Wireless
Amphitheatre in Riverport, cross over the Missouri River via the Discovery
bridge, and finish at the historic Lewis and Clark campsite in St. Charles?
Frontier Park.

The Lewis & Clark event has grown quickly over its short history and has
become the 3rd largest timed race in the state. In response to the event?s
growth, the race directors have added a new race expo, live music at the
post-race party, and prize money for the first three finishers in each
race. The Ameristar Casino Resort Spa has been selected as the Lewis &
Clark Marathon host hotel. The expo and pasta party will be held in the
Ameristar Conference Center?s Discovery Ballroom. John L. Parker, Jr.,
author of Once a Runner, will be the keynote speaker.

With a new course introduced in 2007, the former registration cap of 3,800
participants was removed and the event attracted over 5,000 registrants.
The race directors anticipate an even larger field in 2008.

As was the case in previous years, a portion of the proceeds from the 2008
event will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the St. Charles
Humane Society.
