Weekly Highlights: Marathon Results from 4/7 – 4/13

With thousands of runners lacing up across more than a dozen events on this weekend was filled with personal bests, debut wins, scenic challenges, and Boston-qualifying triumphs.

At the 2025 Jersey City Marathon, held on April 13, approximately 3,000 to 4,000 runners participated in this event, renowned for its flat and fast USATF-certified course, making it an ideal setting for personal bests and Boston Marathon qualifying times. In the men’s race, Setegn Mulu Takele claimed victory with a time of 2:18:45. Takele, originally from Ethiopia, previously won the 2023 Changde Liuye Lake Marathon in China with a time of 2:17:24. In the women’s division, Katie McMenamin led the field, finishing in 2:37:23. McMenamin, a former NCAA Division III national champion, has been a consistent performer in the U.S. marathon circuit. The marathon’s course, which winds through Jersey City’s diverse neighborhoods, offers runners scenic views of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty, enhancing the overall race experience. ​

At the Mountains 2 Beach Marathon held on April 13, 2025, in Ojai, California, over 1,600 runners participated in this popular Boston Marathon qualifier. Andrew Walgren led the men’s field, finishing in 2:30:49, while Eleanor Baker topped the women’s division with a time of 2:47:46. The course, known for its net downhill profile, starts in Ojai and descends to the Ventura beachfront, offering runners a scenic and fast route ideal for personal bests. ​

The Blue Ridge Marathon in Roanoke, Virginia, took place on April 12, 2025, attracting approximately 750 runners to what is often dubbed “America’s Toughest Road Marathon.” Eli Roberson claimed the men’s title with a time of 2:56:26, and Emily Sharp led the women’s field, finishing in 3:17:48. The course is renowned for its challenging elevation changes and stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.​

In Millbrook, New York, the 5th Annual Millbrook Marathon took place on April 13, 2025, with a capped field of 200 participants. Eric Langdon secured the men’s title with a time of 3:12:43, and Katie Robertson led the women’s race, finishing in 3:18:53. Organized by the Eastern Dutchess Road Runners Club, the marathon is known for its challenging course featuring rolling hills and scenic farmland, offering runners a picturesque yet demanding experience. ​

In Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, the Coastal Delaware Running Festival took place on April 12, 2025, with over 2,000 runners participating across various distances. Tyler Daley emerged victorious in the men’s marathon with a time of 2:42:20, while Allyson Casey led the women’s division, finishing in 3:01:19. The marathon course, which features scenic coastal routes and a festive atmosphere, is a favorite among runners seeking a picturesque and enjoyable race experience. ​

At the Lake Chabot Trail Marathon in Castro Valley, California, on April 12, 2025, approximately 300 runners tackled the challenging trail course. Isaac Ick topped the men’s field with a finish time of 4:08:49, while Alessandra Rodriguez led the women’s division, completing the race in 5:56:47. The marathon, known for its hilly terrain and beautiful lake views, offers participants a demanding yet rewarding trail running experience. ​

In London, Ohio, the London OH Marathon was held on April 12, 2025, with approximately 500 runners participating. Nolan Vondracek secured the men’s title with a time of 2:42:27, while Amanda Tomasikiewicz led the women’s race, finishing in 3:10:02. The marathon course, appreciated for its flat terrain and small-town charm, provides an ideal setting for runners aiming for personal bests. ​

At the Milwaukee Running Festival Marathon in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on April 12, 2025, approximately 1,000 runners participated in this urban race. Tony Adriansen dominated the men’s race, finishing in 2:21:11, while Krista Staley led the women’s division with a time of 2:51.

At the Hogeye Marathon in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on April 12, 2025, approximately 500 runners participated in this event, known as Arkansas’ oldest marathon, established in 1977. Zander Lichosik led the men’s field with a time of 2:43:43, narrowly edging out Jonathan Burgess, who finished in 2:43:56. In the women’s division, Emily Newberry claimed victory with a time of 3:21:53. The marathon course showcases the area’s natural beauty, guiding runners through five major city parks and along sections of the Razorback Greenway, including the scenic Lake Fayetteville Trail.​

In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the Philadelphia Trail Marathon took place on April 12, 2025, attracting over 500 participants to the scenic Wissahickon Valley Park. Brian Wiest secured the men’s title with a finish time of 3:20:05, while Colleen Moffatt led the women’s field, completing the race in 4:09:32. The marathon course consists of a 13.1-mile loop, run twice, and is 95% trail with many short but steep climbs, offering runners a challenging yet rewarding experience.​

At the Martian Marathon in Dearborn, Michigan, on April 12, 2025, approximately 1,000 runners participated in this space-themed event. Samuel Darling led the men’s field with a time of 2:42:17, while Hannah Cullen topped the women’s division, finishing in 2:58:04. The marathon is known for its flat and fast course, making it a favorite among runners aiming for personal bests.​

In Lexington, Kentucky, the Horse Capital Marathon was held on April 12, 2025, with around 400 runners participating. Joshua Maughon secured the men’s title with a time of 2:59:51, while Alexis Cunningham led the women’s race, finishing in 2:37:00. The marathon course takes runners through picturesque horse farms and rolling countryside, showcasing the region’s equestrian heritage.​
