Looking for a way to run the 30th Annual Marine Corps MarathonTM but looking for real motivation? The St. Jude Heroes can help! You can tackle your own marathon challenge while helping the children at
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital fight their marathon battles against catastrophic childhood diseases.

St. Jude is recruiting runners to participate on the St. Jude Heroes team. We'll provide months of training support, tips, team gatherings and motivation, Commandant Team Picturealong with a log book to record your progress, a training T-shirt and a race singlet.

All we ask is that each team member raise a minimum of $1,000 for the young patients at St. Jude. We'll even provide the fundraising tips and a sample letter to send to potential sponsors. Together, we can make a difference in a child's life!

Here's what you'll receive as a St. Jude Hero:

When you register:

    A St. Jude Heroes T-shirt
    A logbook to record your progress
    Tips on Training and Fundraising
    Information on St. Jude to share with sponsors

Throughout the program:

    Monthly newsletters with useful information
    Training tips from veteran team members
    Inspiration to keep on track
    Motivational Team Gatherings & Group Runs (Metro DC)
    St. Jude Heroes singlet
    Access to team listserve to maintain contact with other team members

On Race Day:

    A race number for the 2005 Marine Corps Marathon
    St. Jude families and friends to cheer you on
    A St. Jude tent to meet team members,
       carboload, and meet friends and family after the race
    The camaraderie of a team working for the same goal

Upon completion of the program:

    A commemorative St. Jude Heroes plaque
    Great incentives like warm-up suits, gear
       bags and sports watches (based on fundraising)
