Z. from Budapest, Hungary (4/24/2017) "2nd oldest marathon in the world" (about: 2016) 4-5 previous marathons \| 1 Kosice Peace Marathon COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 5 There were many reasons why you would come here: it's the 2nd oldest marathon in the modern world, it's cheap and the crowd is great. The course is made of 2 identical laps, most of it is in the beautiful old town and the park, but it also goes out to an industrial district which wasn't so great. The crowd support is great, you can see that this marathon has a 90+ year tradition. Everyone, from child to grandma goes out to cheer.

K. from Bratislava, Slovakia (10/8/2013) "Nice Track, Nice People" (about: 2013) 1 previous marathon \| 1 Kosice Peace Marathon COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 Track is mostly flat, and it is very nice. It goes through the historical part of the city with some scenic views. Spectators were amazing, and whole city lives with marathon for the whole weekend. I came to Kosice day in advance was enjoying attractions in the city.

Impressive support from the crowds shouting your name; it feels really personal and boosts your confidence. Flawless organization with refreshment stations every 2-3K. Just perfect weather with no clouds in the sky and yet cool enough. Some great times were run this year (2010) with 2:08:33 setting the track record. With relatively few full marathon competitors (about 1,000) this seems to be the world's smallest high-class marathon.

P. from Chicago, IL USA (1/31/2008) "Great History and Great Race" (about: 2007) 3 previous marathons \| 1 Kosice Peace Marathon COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 The marathon has a long history in this town and the residents provide a great deal of support. I especially liked that people had booklets with participants' names and numbers. There were quite a few people who called out my name along the course, which is always welcomed encouragement. At one part of the course there was a pub, and they had pulled tables just along the course. What a great crowd. I was tempted to accept one of the outstretched beers as I went by. If you have the opportunity to run this marathon, don't miss out. Great organization, relatively flat course, and enthusiastic crowds. The people of Kosice are great. If I can work it to my schedule, I'd definitely run it again.

C. from Aylesbury England (10/6/2006) "Great race with lovely support - enjoyed it" (about: 2006) 50+ previous marathons COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 Ran together (with two other Brits) at the last moment, due to the postponement of the Budapest Marathon. Met a great crowd of Spanish runners on the evening train to Kosice from Budapest. The atmosphere was like a big-city marathon with the half marathon helping to get us going on the first lap. (about: 2004) 1 previous marathon \| 1 Kosice Peace Marathon COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 I have run 2 times in Ko?ice. (Once the half-marathon and once the marathon.) It is great experience. It is not just oldest marathon in Europe (est. in 1924) and 2nd oldest in the world, but the race is also in a wonderful old city with great spectators along the whole course. The atmosphere is really fantastic. The people help you very much, by encouraging and supporting every runner with great applause. The marathon has a very long tradition here. Last year, world-renowned names (runners) from Kenya, etc. ran this race.
