A fast, scenic course (General Comments)

T. K. from San Francisco (12/19/03)

This is a relatively small race, with 1,000 - 1,700 runners. I've raced it four times, each was very enjoyable. The course is very scenic, with one loop around a small lake and several long stretches along a river. There are few spectators, though a fair concentration in Echternach, through which the race passes several times. The course is relatively flat and run on well paved streets or paths. It is fairly competitive, the race is usually the Luxembourgisch national championship. There are adequate drink stops, and pre- and post-race activities are well organized. One risk is the weather, it can be cold and rainy this time of year.

a nice marathon to run (about: 2000)

Peter from Meerhout, Belgium (11/13/00)

This was my 7th marathon in three years and I gave the best I had. The conditions were ideal, fogg at the start, no wind , 8 °C. The course itself was a little hilly, but mostly easy-running. At most parts of the course, there were few spectators, but the organisation has solved that problem.
At large parts of the course the runners could follow the other runners race because the road was separated in two running lanes, one away and one back.
So it felt as if you never ran alone.
Every km was indicated with a sign, and there were plenty refreshment posts.
All this made it so that I could break my PR and bring it in at 2 Hr 55' 17'.
With this time, I finished 110th out of 1143 finishers.
