COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 2 FANS: 3 I ran this race shooting for a BQ (previous PB was 3 min away) though I wasn't successful with the hills and whole-race-long rain. The course was generally pretty and very chill, running through some woods, the campus, and lots of residential areas. The directions were terrible and I was almost certain I would have gotten lost had I not pre-rode it. Also, the water was very sparse and voluteers a little aloof. | |

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 This was the second marathon I ran. I competed/ran 15 half marathons before and multiple 5Ks. This course and race was simply awesome. The course took the runners on some of the best parts and roads in Binghamton. I am so glad I didn't let the warm weather discourage me from running the race. Matt and Jenna know how to put a race together and it showed! Thanks to them!!! | |

COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 4 The heat was absolutely brutal, yes...but hey, you can't control the weather. You never know what's going to happen on race day, and this year's herald of victory marathon proved that. For a first year race, the race directors did an excellent job keeping everything organized. The volunteers were outstanding, I felt supported the whole marathon long, and the fact that there was never a shortage of water or supplies was awesome. Definitely running this one next year. | |

COURSE: 3 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 3 The heat is the story of the race. It was sunny and upper 80's and since this is a city/suburban race there were times when it felt much hotter than that.The support was top class however. Aid every two miles with ice, sports drinks and water. The volunteers were fantastic and many homeowners came out with water or hoses. The course is best described as convoluted. There were a lot of turns and some minor hills. Fortunately there were some shady sections. Kudos to the organizers for the effort. Without the foresight to provide the great support on the course this could well have been a horror show. | |

COURSE: 1 ORGANIZATION: 3 FANS: 2 The organizers of this marathon deserve kudos for trying to showcase Binghamton in their course design. Unfortunately, the weather was steamy hot, and almost everything about the race was pretty bad. Start with the race expo - It was held in the basement of a hotel, in three separate small rooms. You got your number, shirt, and beer mug by visiting each room. It was disorganized, and odd. On race day, I parked at the start line (a baseball stadium), there were plenty of spaces, and lots of bathrooms available. No music or fan fair at the start. It was a VERY hot day, everyone ran slower, and utilized every aid station. The volunteers were fantastic, and really helped all the runners I was with. Aid stations had water, sports drink, and ice, and we needed all of it! During the first half of the race the aid stations were spaced irregular. It seemed like there wouldn't be any for a while, and then there would be a couple in quick succession. The course was advertised as running through all the beautiful parts of Binghamton, but it was an ugly course. I've run 25 marathons, and this course was the worst. A lot of ugly urban neighborhoods, cement campuses, and busy roads. Even the park we ran through was noisy, paved, and shade free. Many cross roads were unmanned, and some turns didn't have volunteers, or even a sign. There was no music or bands during the first half of the race, but quite a few during the second half This race needs a better course, and better organization. |
