A. from Milwaukee, WI (9/19/2015) "Tough, but one of my new favorites" (about: 2015) 11-50 previous marathons \| 1 InStep Trail Marathon COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 4 laps of the black loop including a tower climb (just one!) This is by far my personal worst time in a marathon but I loved every minute of the race. Steep hills, rolling hills, long hills it has every kind of hill you might want. And you get to do each one 4 times! Don't expect to PR (I was about 80 minutes slower than a typical marathon but still placed in my AG) but it's one you'll remember forever. Lots of well-stocked aid stations. Incredibly well-marked course. Good food at the end. Could not ask for more.

Great trail race" (about: 2014) 4-5 previous marathons \| 1 InStep Trail Marathon COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 2 I ran the half marathon. Running lakefront marathon in less than a month so I didn't want to over do it. The full consists of 4 full loops through lampham peak state park. No part of this race is flat. It's the most challenging race I have done. Quite beautiful. Temperature was in the low 60's. Perfect weather.If you are looking for a challenge, this is the race for you. Running up the tower was a killer. The half consists of two full loops through the park. You need a state park sticker to get in the park. Well organized and friendly runners. Will do it again next year!
