"Easy Out, Easy Back" (about: 2016)

| 1 Tanglefoot Trail Marathon
COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 2 Straight and flat. Get lost in a conversation with a buddy or go to the beat of the music. It's nicely supported with 4 hydration/support areas. There are cow pastures, you will smell them as well as wildlife. I recommend the race especially if you don't want any pressure.

"Great race on bike trail" (about: 2016)

| 1 Tanglefoot Trail Marathon
COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 1 An out and back course twice for marathon. Very nice bike trail, support, and management. Some have said it's boring, but they must not train in snow storms for 3 hours on treadmill. No frills race, but everything you need.

"Well, that was interesting" (about: 2014)

| 1 Tanglefoot Trail Marathon
COURSE: 3 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 1 I ran this as my Mississippi for 50 states marathoning. This was the smallest race I have ever done (around 26 marathoners I believe), and was very well put together. It was easy to pick up our packets (race morning, outdoor table, no expo)- and we parked literally 15 feet from the start. Convenience and no-frills wise 5 stars. For me the double out and back was quite boring and very mentally draining, and I almost pulled out to the half. However, if you go into this race knowing what to expect (no crowds, more like a running club weekend race), you will be fine. Fast and flat, just bring an iPod or a chatty friend. Nicely organized.

"Small, Straight, and Flat" (about: 2014)
6-10 previous marathons
COURSE: 2 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 1 This was an inaugural event on a paved rails-to-trails in Mississippi. A double out and back made the course somewhat boring, but still scenic enough. Awesome volunteers, no real crowd at all. Fewer than 100 runners, full & half combined. Would be a good spot for a PR, but not chip timed. It would be good to see this race grow, great location & well organized. |
