Great race by the way. However, there is some hills in the beginning in Cascais and there aren't waves, so there is a chance that you will be slower than you thought. Another problem was the temperature. I finish my Marathon at 11:34 am and it was 32° Celsius.

(about: 2016) 50+ previous marathons \| 1 Rock 'n' Roll Lisbon Marathon COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 2 Not sure why the organizers claim it the worlds most gorgeous marathon. The Lisbon Marathon starts in a small town of Cascais, west of Lisbon. Then you run east for 30 km mostly on a highway, with no spectators, with no shade, with sun hitting you right into your eyes, so you cant even see much where you are running. Finally, after 30 km on the road, you enter the center of Lisbon where locals and tourists completely ignore you (or worse, if they are waiting for a bus that is delayed because of you). The isotonic drinks are only at 10 km, 20 km, 32 km and 39 km, so try to drink as much of it as you can whenever you are lucky to get it. And dont forget your sunglasses!

(about: 2013) 4-5 previous marathons \| 1 Rock 'n' Roll Lisbon Marathon COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 2 Priceless course along the ocean and Tagus river, with occasional deviations to the historic zones of the passing by cities (Estoril, Oeiras, Lisboa). No more than 2000 participants in this first edition and very few spectators along the course.
