Probably the most beautiful marathon I have ever run - very hilly but spectacular views reward you whenever another hill is conquered: Endless fjords with floating icebergs and snow-covered mountains all over. It was nice to not have screaming spectators and weird orchestras (no need for ear plugs) all along the course but actually being able just to enjoy the serene atmosphere, the constant beauty and clean air. So it never became boring even if you had to run the course twice - there was always something new to look at. The organization was great with a lot of support on the course and lots of choices for foods and drinks at all the aid stops. And the pre-marathon expo was a nice alternative to the traditional ones at the big-city marathons with its huge table of free exotic fruits that just kept being replenished. The best carbo-loading!

It was actually quite hot (27 C) and the route is tough - a beautiful route but you run it twice, which is a bit boring. Not that many spectators, but the organizers had done their best with live music and other events in the finishing-area.
