This was a first time event from a long time (small race) promoter. Organization, like in all Steve and Paula Boone events, was spectacular. The course was a little long. At the end of the 4 lap course, I logged in close to 28 miles.

It was a relatively flat but challenging trail marathon course that included, rough terrain, high grass, short steep climbs and drop-offs, and lots of sand. If you were looking for lots of spectators, don't look here. But if you want a laid back race with mutual competitor support, this was it.

Like all Boone events, it had a goodies galore! Tech shirt, tech hat, and a nice carry bag. Lots of drink and all you can eat pizza at the end.

Great runner experience. Will run again. (about: 2012)

This was the second event of a b2b half and full marathon. Huge number of porta-potties. Same course as the previous day (easy trail) with no hills to speak of but it had some sand and gravel while circumnavigating some lakes. Very enjoyable course with great swag and sufficiently stocked aid stations. In addition to the normal swag finishers of both days got a 3 inch two sided medallion with the faces of the finisher medals on each side. Who needs fans..runners ran past a nesting bald eagle which was a special treat. Very nice! I would run this event again.

Outstanding double put on by Steve And Paula Boone (about: 2012)

Second in series by Steve and Paula Boone.
A great event and a terrific venue.
Steve got up early and fixed the 'Mayan Miles' back to 'standard US miles'.
He threw in a 'phyiscal cliff' in rearranging the course.
That is one of the things a good race director will do for you. Also he shuttled suplies to the aid stations.
A high light was the family of nesting Eagles that were visible from the course. Quite an experience of them flying into the nest.
The weather was beautiful again.
Again all the details to putting on a great event were taken care of from the adequate porti-cans with inexhaustible toilet paper, the terrific volunteers, several running legends, and the large number of marathon maniacs to keep things interesting.
This was the second in the 2 day series had fabulous perts such as 6 inch diamter (1.1 pound) finishers metal, beautiful T-shirt,running cap, and a large duffel bag.
Also if you completed both days you got a 3 inch diameter (3/4 pound) two sided doubloon. Each face had a replica of the series finishing medals on it.
Pizza and cookies and sodas followed the run.
Can't say enough good things about this event.
