This was my second attempt in Thessaloniki and it was more difficult than the first one in 2012, due to the weather. The course is heading east all the way from Pella to Thessaloniki and the runners face the sun all the time. The scenery includes farms and small villages, so there is no shadow.
The organization is good regarding the transportation to the start, but medium in the end, where I had to ask fellow runners in order to find my baggage!
The support is very little along the first 40km, and it gets rather lonely. The finish though, along the coast of the town is rather impressive with drums beating and a lot of people cheering on! It was worth it getting there!
The course is mostly flat with some minor hills, but the weather (if sunny) can be a problem! Also, the organization needs some improvement, but it is a rather new race (since 2006), so I'll certainly run it again in the future.
