Chaotic, smelly, awful organization. (about: 2006)|

Ran the inaugural Delhi Marathon. No numbers at the expo, awful course marking, wrong distance for all but the elites, disappearing marshals, no security from traffic, locked gates at the race start, no finish line, no medals, no water, no medical cover at the finish, uninterested money-grabbing organizers. Doubt it will improve much for 2007. The elites, who formed about 30% of the 100+ field were catered to OK, but the rest of us suffered. The "press" stuffed their faces while the marathoners were ignored. Even allowing for the expected levels of disorganisation that were bound to exist in a first-time marathon in a crazy city like Delhi, this was a truly pathetic attempt.
