"Great Thailand Experience" (about: 2011)

Overall, the organization for the race is good; they even shuttled me from the airport to my hotel - nice. However, there is a serious lack of toilets. When I went into the conference center, the men's bathroom did not have any TP. Post-party area had various Thai food - actually not bad for breakfast.

The race begins around 5:45 a.m. There were not many spectators to start with, but the last 2K have plenty of thronging crowds cheering you on.

Flat and fast; there's not much scenery, but who cares? This is Thailand.

"Course is flat, so a good time possible." (about: 2010)

Very friendly people, and a good value for the money. The course is flat but boring, as much is run on a main road in a straight line. And in parts, traffic was a nuisance.

The best post-race ever, with genuine girls giving massages and great refreshments (including hot, lovely soup). Good t-shirt and medal.

Too few fans, but in places small groups showed great fervor, and that was memorable.

"Best organized marathon I have experienced" (about: 2010)

I can't say enough about how well organized this marathon was. Shuttle bus pickup at the airport with volunteer English translators was available for two days. Free Thai massages before, during, and following the marathon. Innumerable aid and water stations. Early start to beat the heat and, once sun broke, great crowd support. Local runners went out of their way to make my experience special. I didn't want the marathon to end - it was that much fun!

Organizers were great at the expo helping with translations to make sure I understood everything I needed to know. Very enthusiastic crowd support, especially the children. What the spectators lacked in numbers they made up for in enthusiasm. Course is marked extremely well. Never ran a marathon that had so many water stations. Only issue was their were no port-a-potties. You were directed to gas stations to use their bathrooms. A very unique running experience. Very memorable. Highly recommended.

"fun, interesting and full with surprises" (about: 2006)

11-50 previous marathons | 1 Khon Kaen International Marathon

We started very early in the morning when the weather was just right. It was great to see different parts of the city with the sunrise. You'd get to see what people do at the morning market and hear different sound of monks chanting, etc. It was such a neat experience. People were extremely friendly. The best part was the free massage and the porridge soup.
