EVENT DESCRIPTION
Enviro-Sports (11/15/06)

Mt. Tamalpais is a treasure trove of pristine trails. We've put together the best singletrack the mountain has to offer for some of the most beautiful mileage you'll ever run. At least we think so.

Waiting at the Stinson Beach start line will be the only time you spend at sea level during this trail run. From the word "Go" you'll be heading, up, up and away into the thick wooded trails of Muir Woods. You'll follow the legendary Dipsea trail to Steep Ravine, where you'll climb a wooden ladder, march up natural rock and wooden staircases and scramble under tree trunks.

Along the way, enjoy the sounds of babbling brooks and waterfalls and drink in the fresh smell of the towering redwoods ...

Beautiful- but sparse on aid stations (about: 2012)

It was an absolutely beautiful run- we ran the reworked course due to a mudslide, but I thought it was incredible- very challenging (Over a mile in elevation gain alone)- there were ladders and bridges, logs to hop over and duck under, and plenty of stairs. I wouldn't recommend it if you have joint issues. But still incredibly beautiful with continuous scenery changes, one moment you're by a river in the redwoods, the next you have a 270 degree view of the bay- incredible.
I would like to see more aid stations though- there were a few stretches that really hurt and there were no aid stations in sight- otherwise very kind and helpful staff, just not enough appropriate food (GU would be nice)

Ouch...it's a tough one (about: 2012)

What a great but very tough marathon. Tougher than Big Sur and even the 50 I ran last year.

It's a beautiful run...on clear days you have great views of the Pacific and the run through the redwoods was fantastic. It's tough....lots of long, slow hills with elevation changes over 1200 ft...lots of switchbacks and it's humbling, but still good.

Dave really knows how to put on a great race. Best part is the free beer afterwards!

It's a small race....60 or so marathoners, but there s also a half and 7 miler.

Crowd support is slim, but it's a trail run and that's to be expected. The volunteers were the best....Thank You.
