This was my first half marathon and I had a blast. There was AT LEAST weekly communication about the organization and direction of this race. Not to mention the inspirational facebook status updates put up by Chris almost daily. He has a gift or building anticipation and excitement and does not disappoint come race time. As a first timer the communication really helped me to prepare and feel like I knew what to expect on race day.

This was my second time to run the BCS marathon, and it just keeps getting better! The director and his staff did an awesome job! The attention to details, from start to finish was great! We got constant updates concerning weather, etc. when the forecast showed higher than normal temps, the director made several last minute changes to help. everyone beat the heat. You got the feeling that he really cared about the runners and their safety.

My brother and I love running this race! It's so well organized and attention is paid to every detail!

I have run 20 full marathons and have never felt as cared for and taken care of by a race. The pre-race communication and personal attention by the race director is fabulous! Plenty of parking and easy logistics at the start line. More than enough volunteers on the course and great fluid stops. Seemed like every stop also had full medical. I particularly enjoyed the stops with cold towels. While there was not a lot of places for spectators, the race did a great job of creating a spectator guide that my family could follow. For a small town race, this was fabulous!

This was my first ever long distance run and everything went perfect. Chris did an awesome job at organizing the expo and race. The course was excellent and the spectators kept me going even when I wanted to stop. Without the officers, spectators and volunteers, the race would not have been possible. It was such a great experience that I cannot wait for next year!

This race is organized exceptionally well. The ability of the director and his crew to make you feel as if they are focused entirely on you having a great race was impressive. Their level of communication on all details, large and small, even when it was the umpteenth time answering the same question, showed their commitment to each individual racer. The course is fairly easy, with a couple of decent rollers in the middle to give you 2nd thoughts. Weather is key as always. this is Texas racing. 70's and humid on race day this year. 40's the day after.

I've run many races, including the Houston Marathon several times, and though this race may be smaller (only because it is just getting started!) it's organization, support, fans and course are just as enjoyable! I have run both years so far and plan to do so for as long as it continues...which I hope has no end in sight! Thank you Chris and your team for the time, effort, late nights, long weekends, and everything else you do to put this race on. Organizing a race is no easy task and you do a phenomenal job!!!
