Nice, small race (about: 2011)|

I did the inaugural marathon this year, and came away fairly impressed. It's a very small race, with fewer than 150 people running the marathon, but it is put together nicely. There are a good number of water stations, and the half and full courses are easy to follow.
The course is fairly rural. Even though it is an open course, you encounter very little vehicle traffic. You also encounter very little crowd support, which for me is no big deal, but I understand that others enjoy seeing spectators.
The organizers are friendly, and knowledgeable, and as years go on I can see this becoming a larger race.
The only thing that surprised me were the hills. While there are no large, killer hills, there are rolling hills nearly the entire course. The course is still somewhat fast. Had the wind not been blowing at 25+ MPH, I would have likely run a PR.
