Overall impressed with Expo, organization of race, post race car show and festival feel with music and food was just great. Nice place to congregate. Would like to have seen the cheerleading and percussion or bands on course for the 1/2...really thought there would be more finishing spectators. Those there, though sparse for the most part, were encouraging and supportive. Very nice medal and logo. Hills were tough a the end even for a Missouri guy -would sure consider a flatter finish or park setting if possible.

This is only my 3rd half marathon, but it was one of the funnest by far. The hills at the end were tough, but I will train for them next year and be ready. I was a little disappointed that there were not more bands on the course and the mile of inspiration was not there. But everything else was AWESOME. I'm bringng more friends with me next year.

I was very happy I opted to do this run. It was obvious a lot of time went into organizing this event. The course is flat till you get to around 23 miles and then there are hills and an uphill finish. Knowing this ahead of time would have been a benifit (drive the course). The finish venue was very well organized making it easy to meet family/friends and get food (and beer).
Look forward to doing this race again next year knowing what I know now.

I ran the half marathon course. The course was pretty flat with some hills. There were ample water stops with power gel being handed out twice since there was a turnaround area. Not many spectators showed up but the ones who did were supportive. Great finisher medals and the sweatshirt for signing up was nice too. I think it was a good first marathon and feel like this race will only continue to improve and grow in the years to come.

I think all of those involved in organizing this marathon should be proud. This is the kind of race that I expect from a city with as strong a running community as Tulsa's. As a former Tulsa area resident, it was great to be back running along my favorite section of the Arkansas River. It was also great to see familiar faces along the way. The only part of the race course I wasn't too keen with was that undeveloped parking lot entrance in Jenks... but that is about it for carps. I hope that this marathon returns with the same level of organization, and that the general Tulsa community understands how a well run event such as this adds immeasurable value to the city.

First Marathon
I believe the closeness of the annual Tulsa Run probably took away some of the splash of the first Route 66 Marathon. Hopefully there will be more spectators and more music along the route in future years. Hydration stations were well placed. This was my first event (Half Marathon) so I really have nothing to compare it against, but news coverage of events in other locations seems to indicate large spectator groups that we did not have. I walked/jogged the event with my wife this year and we are planning to do it again next year.

The best finisher's food tent I have ever experienced as of yet. Great location from race hotel. If the star spangled banner was played, we couldn't hear it. Needs more DJ's and/or bands, but I do realize this was the first Tulsa marathon, and on that note, I think it was very well organized and will only get better. Good give away's as well. Great job, keep it up.

First Marathon
This race was my first, and its first, and that made it something special. The run had enough change in scenery to where time just flew by. Water stations were fairly slim in the middle. Fans were great, for a first-time event. The start and finish area are classic. The course has a nice, undulating finish for the last 2.5-3 miles and was somewhat of a challenge. All in all, it was a good race.

The Route 66 Marathon was a wonderful addition to Tulsa! The course was absolutely beautiful, the organizers and directors did a fabulous job making sure everything went perfectly. The support for the runners was wonderful. This was my first marathon experience (I ran the Half-marathon) as a runner, and found it to be everything I had hoped for!
The course was a bit challenging, but that made it even more of an accomplishment. However, the view and variety were wonderful! The water and sports drink stops were perfectly orchestrated, and the timing and registration crew did a great job both before, during, and after the race! The pace leaders were on the mark and incredibly supportive. Congratulations on a job well done!
