This race is for all of those people who think that the prairies are flat - think again! Everyone was so friendly. The course was well marked and there were ample water stations. And what a bonus to be able to park right next to the start line. The organization was seamless. Congratulations on a job well done!

Good race, but need more fans to cheer runners on. (about: 2007)

Challenging, but lonely.

I wouldn't hesitate to say this course is by far the best course if you want to test your endurance; it has a mutitude of hills and the road is gravel, and if it rains then you will be tested to your limit. I'm 13 years-old and this was a real test for me and I will be back next year with some friends. Great job, Treherne.

The course was wonderful again. The hills were challenging yet fun. An awesome way to meet new people in a friendly rural atmosphere. Great job with the food and refreshments. Everyone should book their calendars for next year.

Challenging! (about: 2006)

This was the 2nd event and it was well organized again. The only unexpected factor was the wind, rain and mud. The last mile or so was a mud-fest, but for me, that was an added challenge. The aid-station staff and fellow runners were still very enthusiastic considering the conditions. Good job again, Treherne. You do need different medals for full and half runners, but no complaints. Hoping for sun for 2007. The small-town feeling showed through again.

beautiful, very challenging, and great, soft route (about: 2006)

I loved the 1/2 marathon course; the rolling terrain was a challenge and had such a nice, soft surface area the whole way. I have never felt so good running this course compared to the flatter, concrete ones. People were very friendly and helpful. Route was well marked and it was nice to see all the volunteers on the course. Massages at the end were very much appreciated after those hills. Ham steak on a bun with salad was a nice change from just bagels. Would recommend having hot chocolate at the end of the race for us non-coffee drinkers, needing something warm.

My only criticism is something that likely does occur with any manual (non-chip) entry of race results. My tag was removed at the end upon completion, but was lost and not recorded on the results list. It was not found until after handing out the medals for age classes. Unfortunately, I did not receive the 2nd place medal in my age category. Not sure how you can avoid these possible occurrences but when it happens to someone that achieves a ranking, it could create problems on some occasions. (I did notify some race volunteers of this error before I left.)

Rainy, cool and fantastic!!! (about: 2006)

The first rainy day in four months and it had to be race day! My first half marathon and it was fantastic; the community was so supportive and waving and cheering... smiles everywhere!! It was well organized and the race route was beautiful.... I'll be back in 2007.

A very beautiful, scenic, (hilly) rural marathon (about: 2005)

I really enjoyed this rural marathon. The weather was fantastic to match the nice and friendly people. It is a very small marathon, i.e. small in total number of runners, esp. the full distance, but big in spirit and big in the hearts of the organizers. The organizers did a great job. Good aid stations, well marked course. The hilly terrain is what makes it a wonderful and inspiring marathon. It's not all in the time, but more in the fun of it and finishing it. I really enjoyed the rural run, where you could look at the hills, the fields were inspiring as well. The sunflowers and the hay bails on the fields make it pretty as well. I certainly would like to be back again. I have run 34 marathons and 8 ultras, mostly in Europe, and this one reminds me of some of the rural ones I have run in France and Switzerland and Germany. The aid stations had power gels which was great. Very friendly people. I will invite my other running friends next year. Thanks Treherne runners and organizers and the Chamber of Commerce for doing a great job. My favorite quote is, 'Why would anyone live on this earth and not run on it?' That goes for TREHERNE.

Super, Challenging & Scenic (about: 2005)

Great 1st event Treherne!! Aid stations and toilets were well placed. Route was extremely well marked and policed. Traffic was virtually nil but was well controlled. Full course was perfect with hills followed by flat before the hills again (+ gentle descent into the town). Finish area had great atmosphere/camaraderie. Fruit, juice muffins and pork bun was great.

SMALL-TOWN FRIENDLINESS ++++++.... keep it up. Definitely back next year.
