This was my second marathon; the small size made for a nice, welcome feel to the race. Organization was excellent. The crowd was thin at times but very encouraging - the best of the "crowd" at times were the local police directing traffic! Volunteers were great - a local triathlete on a bike rode by me for about 4 miles, singing show-tunes (yeah, i guess we were both delirious, right?) and pushing me to the finish line for a PR. Overall, a well done race.

This was by far the smallest marathon field that I've run with. Overall, it was a great experience. The organization was great and everyone involved was friendly and helpful. I didn't have a problem at the expo but I got there early on Saturday.
My lasting memory will be the car driving into the runners near the race start.

My 5th PB marathon and it went fairly well. Great weather helped, but the following could use improvement:
1) More help needed at packet pick-up. Lines were too long.
2) Avoid the number of turns down side streets after mile 22. Why not take it further north to 45th Street?
3) Was course long? Many GPS's had it long.
4) Traffic control - there was a car driving into all runners just after the start.

Very flat and fast course. This was a well run event with terrific support on the course. Medical support on bikes was very helpful. Water stops were fun - in particular the dancing dudes in skirts an coconut bras! Only complaint was the long line for the number pick-up; otherwise, a great time.

The marathon course for 2009 was much improved. The complete lack of local spectator support makes for a very boring run. Almost no music along course. In this type of a climate, fluids should be at every mile and not at 1.5 mlies. The fluid stops should be better marked. This is a local race without the energy of a major marathon.

There is nothing better than a 60-degree start, and watching the sun rise over Palm Beach. Great organization and a very flat/fast course. Running past the finish line at mile 20 is a little discouraging, but spectators give the marathon runners much needed support to guide you on the last six miles. I ran my PR and enjoyed lounging in the Palm Beach amphitheater afterward, with great food and music. I'm definitely making this an annual race.

This course was certainly flat and fast, and the weather was very good for FL this time of year - we lucked out. The race was well organized, with plenty of food, and the volunteers were great. The only area for improvement is the management of the merge of the half marathon runners with the marathon runners; there was a lot of congestion as the half marathon participants were walking the course. A few spots were a little tight.

This is the 4th time I've run the half marathon in West Palm. The event is six years-old. I come down from CT, and hotels are plentiful and cheap. Parking is fantastic - free and within a half-mile of the start. It's and early start at 6:30. Post-race food is incredible - bagel with assorted spreads, water, banana, hot dog, protein drinks and more. One warning: the start is a bit chaotic, so get there in plenty of time. Also, there are just barely enough port-o-potties; figure on a 10-minute wait.

A pleasure to run. It was marathon #254 for me, and my first in South Florida. You know you're doing a Florida marathon when 60 seconds after the gun goes off and thousands of runners are surging forward, here comes a senior citizen driving into the crowd in his big, old car! Boy! Did that ever wake me up! I would recommend this race and remind the runner to watch out for those Florida drivers.

This was my first Palm Beach Marathon. The expo appeared to be poorly organized.
That being said, the race itself was fantastic. The course was scenic, the (at times sparse) spectators were enthusiastic, and the weather was surprisingly cool at the start. The only downside was passing the finish line at mile 20. I will run this race again.
