Registration Opens Monday for the 2012 KeyBank Vermont City Marathon

(Burlington, VT): Registration for the largest running event in Northern
New England opens on Monday, October 3, at 6 am, nearly a full month earlier
than in past years. The Burlington, Vermont-based KeyBank Vermont City
Marathon and Relay was a sold out event in 2011, with 3600 marathoners and
4500 relay runners participating.

According to RunVermont Executive Director Peter Delaney, the earlier date
provides the opportunity for runners closed out of the April Boston Marathon
to register for the Burlington race in May.

"Our marathon continues to grow." said Delaney. "That is due to both the
race's reputation as a high-quality, well-run event and the exceptional
community that supports this event. We are a destination for runners seeking
a spring marathon and once they come, they want to come back for more of the
Burlington experience."

The 2012 event is scheduled for Sunday, May 27. Registration and full
details are offered online at www.runvcm.org. Marathoners who register
early enjoy a discounted fee of $85. Registration for the relay lottery
