Registration Up Over 200% At Eye-Q Two Cities Marathon
May 7, 2010
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Fresno, CA - The Directors of the upcoming Eye-Q Two Cities Marathon are
reporting that registrations are up 200% over last year, which sold out
weeks prior to the November event. The directors credited the surge of
registrations to the event's huge success last year, as well as the
announcement of brining the Ultra Marathon Man Dean Karnazes to Fresno as
their guest speaker. The organizers along with Dean's help have added a
50K Ultra to the Marathon event, which sold-out the first 100 spots almost
immediately. "It created such a buzz that we are contemplating opening it
back up for a final 100 participants July 1st," commented Race Director
Mike Herman.
The Eye-Q Two Cities Marathon, Half Marathon and 2-person Half-Marathon
Relay will take place on November 7, 2010 in Fresno and Clovis California,
hence the Two Cities Marathon. There will be a 2-day Health and Fitness
Expo on November 5th and 6th with Dean speaking and motivating the field of
participants at the Saturday ALL YOU CAN EAT Pasta Dinner.
Marathon and Half Marathon runners will be competing for a $10,000 prize
purse sponsored by Fresno's Heald College. "This is a fast course where
records can be broken and runners can qualify for the Boston Marathon”,
said Herman.
Participation has grown from 3,000 to 7,000 in just three short years. The
director's goals are to make this event one of the nations finest and most
recognizable marathon, with participation reaching 10,000 by year 2012.
