             TWIN CITIES MARATHON REGISTRATION 75% FULL

Minneapolis, Minnesota - May 6, 2002 - Registration for the 21st running 
of the Twin Cities Marathon on September 29 is over 75% full.  In 5 days  
since registration opened, over 6,380 people have registered for the 
8,500 field.  
	
Registration is on pace to fill in record time.  Participants are 
encouraged to register as soon as possible.  Participants can check the 
marathon's website at www.twincitiesmarathon.org for on-line registration 
availability.  To pick up a registration form in 
person, stop by the Twin Cities Marathon office in the Calhoun Beach Club 
or check with local running stores and major health clubs.  For more

The 2002 TCM weekend is September 27-29 and will host the 2002 USA Men's, 
Women's and Masters Marathon Championships.  The three-day weekend 
celebration of fitness includes a 5K Fun Run/Walk, children's fun runs, 
pasta dinner, two-day health and fitness expo and a 10-mile race in 
addition to the marathon.  Major corporate sponsors for the marathon are 
Cub Foods, Calhoun Beach Club and Seagate.  The major media sponsors are 
KARE 11 and Cities 97.  Twin Cities Marathon, Inc. is a non-profit 
organization that directs the TCM weekend as a community service for the
