   TWIN CITIES MARATHON, INC. WELCOMES NEW YOUTH PROGRAMS AND COMMUNITY  
              OUTREACH MANAGER SANDY UNGER TO FULL-TIME STAFF
 Growth of Medtronic TC Kids Marathon and Family Events Programs Continues

(Minneapolis, MN) – Sandy Unger joins Twin Cities Marathon, Inc. as Youth 
Programs and Community Outreach Manager.  Unger brings 25 years of 
experience working with youth and families to the position.  She most 
recently finished a position with the Sabes Jewish Community Center as 
Assistant Executive Director.  

Twin Cities Marathon, Inc. executive director Virginia Brophy Achman said 
filling this role with someone with as much experience and reach means 
greater development of the Medtronic TC Kids Marathon website and schools 
program.  "Sandy's addition will benefit the phenomenal growth our schools 
and families program is experiencing.  With the addition of the Medtronic 
TC Kids Marathon, we have opportunities for kids to train and run in an 
organized event each season of the year."

Unger said she will use her community outreach and volunteer experience to 
build the current schools and families program, adding further incentives 
programs to the Medtronic TC Kids Marathon and building the winter training 
program and February track meet.  

Prior to joining Twin Cities Marathon, Inc., Unger spent 20 years in 
management with St. Paul Parks and Recreation and two years with the Inver 
Grove Heights, South St. Paul and West St. Paul/Mendota Heights school 
districts as the Youth Coordinator.
