        STREET CLOSURE SCHEDULE AND TRAFFIC RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE
            7TH ANNUAL SPIRIT OF SPIRIT OF ST. LOUIS MARATHON  
              & FAMILY FITNESS WEEKEND APRIL 14 & 15, 2007

ST. LOUIS, MO—More than 16,000 people of all ages and athletic abilities 
are expected to participate in the 7TH Annual Spirit Of Spirit Of St. Louis 
Marathon & Family Fitness Weekend on April 14 and 15, 2007.  The safety of 
all runners, walkers, spectators and the general public will be a top 
priority with an estimated 4,500 participants on Saturday, April 14 in 
Forest Park and 11,500 athletes on Sunday, April 15.  Marathon officials 
together with the City of St. Louis, Clayton and University City Police 
Departments are announcing road closures and traffic recommendations to 
make the public aware of temporary traffic modifications over the weekend.

Businesses and places of worship have received notification of road 
closures so that customers and congregants can plan accordingly.

The following streets will be closed in Forest Park for the Spirit of St. 
Louis Marathon and Family Fitness Weekend  on April 14, 2007: 

Clayton Avenue from Faulkner Drive to McKinley Drive (6:30 a.m. – 8:15 
a.m.)
Wells Drive from Carr Lane Drive to McKinley Drive (6:30 a.m. – 8:15 a.m.)
Wells Drive from McKinley Drive to Jefferson Drive (6:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.)
Macklind Drive from Union to Wells (6:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.)
Government Drive from the Boathouse to Pagoda Circle (6:30 a.m. – 11:00 
a.m.)
McKinley Drive from Carr Lane Drive to Pagoda Circle (6:30 a.m. – 11:00 
a.m.)
Faulkner Drive from Clayton Avenue to Jefferson Drive (6:30 a.m. – 8:30 
a.m.)
Jefferson Drive from Faulkner Drive to Theatre Drive (6:30 a.m. – 8:30 
a.m.)
Theatre Drive from Jefferson Drive to Pagoda Circle (6:30 a.m. – 11:00 
a.m.)
Pagoda Circle (6:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.)
Cricket Drive from Pagoda Circle to Lindell (6:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.)
Grand Drive from West Pine Boulevard to Jefferson Drive (6:30 a.m. – 8:30 
a.m.)
Grand Drive from the Visitor's Center to Union (6:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.)
Union Drive from Lindell to Theatre Drive (6:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.)

Participants and spectators for the Children's Fun Runs at 9:30 a.m. and 
Mature Mile at 10:00 a.m. are encouraged to park in the lot at the corner 
of Grand and Cricket Drive across from the Jones Visitors' Center and next 
to the Dwight Davis Tennis Center. 

Parking will be available on surrounding streets in accordance with traffic 
laws.  Below is the schedule for nearby parking lots.
Dwight Davis Tennis Center, open until 7:00 p.m.
North Zoo Parking Lot, open all day
Upper MUNY Parking lot, open all day

To access the Zoo and Upper MUNY lots, use the Hampton Avenue entrance from 
Hwy 64/40 or the Lagoon Drive entrance from Skinker.  For those entering 
Forest Park between 7:00 a.m. ad 8:30 a.m., please use one of the following 
entrances, Lagoon Drive via Skinker, by the Missouri History Museum via 
Lindell or Hampton via Hwy 40/64.

Spirit of Saint Louis Marathon, Sunday, April 15, 2007
The following Hwy 40/64 exit ramps will be closed:  

Exit 37A – Eastbound I-64 at Market/Bernard
Exit 38A – Westbound I-64 at 3000 West Market
Exit 38B – Westbound I-64 at Forest Park Parkway
Exit39A – Westbound I-64 at 21st Street

Streets in the City of St. Louis on the marathon, half marathon and 
marathon relay courses will be closed to ALL vehicular traffic for the 
safety of participants.  Streets along the course will be re-opened 
according to a 16 minute mile pace.  After that time each mile section of 
the street will re-open.

Market from Tucker to 20th Street (4:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.)
Tucker from Market to Chouteau (6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.)
Chouteau from Tucker to Broadway (6:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.)
Broadway/7th Street from Chouteau to Arsenal (6:30 a.m. to 8:40 a.m.)
Lynch from 7th Street to 12th and 13th Streets (6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.)
Market from 20th Street to Compton (7:00 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.)
Forest Park Avenue from Compton to Euclid (7:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) – 
Euclid from Forest Park Avenue to Clayton Avenue (6:30 a.m. to 1:20 p.m.)
Clayton Avenue from Euclid to Faulkner Drive (6:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.)
Faulkner Drive from Clayton Avenue to Jefferson Drive (6:30 a.m. to 1:05 
p.m.)
Jefferson Drive from Faulkner Drive to Theater Drive (6:30 a.m. to 1:00 
p.m.)
Theater Drive from Jefferson Drive to Pagoda Circle (6:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 
)
Pagoda Circle (6:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.)
Cricket Drive from Pagoda Circle to Lindell Boulevard (6:30 a.m. to 12:50 
p.m.)
Grand Drive from West Pine Boulevard to Lagoon Drive (6:30 a.m. to 1:15 
p.m.)
Government Drive/Union from Grand Drive to Lindell Boulevard (6:30 a.m. to 
1:15 p.m.)
Lagoon Drive from Grand Drive to the parking lot of the Norman C. Probstein 
Golf Course (6:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.)

The following streets in St Louis will have limited access:

Delmar from Skinker to DeBaliviere, no eastbound traffic (8:00 a.m. – 12:45 
p.m.)
DeBaliviere from Delmar to Lindell, no southbound traffic (8:20 a.m. – 1:00 
p.m.)
Forest Park Parkway from Skinker to Euclid, no eastbound traffic (6:30 a.m. 
– 1:30 p.m.)

These streets will be open only for police and emergency vehicles.  Parking 
will not be available. Kingshighway and Grand Blvd. will remain open 
throughout the race and will serve as major thoroughfares for north/south 
traffic.

Streets on the course in Clayton and University City will be open with 
limited access.  Runners on these streets will have the right of way.
