Missoula Marathon Donates To Charitable Organizations
Missoula, MT -- The Missoula Marathon is giving back to the charitable v
volunteer groups that gave so much to make the inaugural Missoula marathon
such a success last year. To thank these volunteer groups, the Marathon
committee has donated $1,250 to each of the following groups: Camp
Mak-a-Dream, American Red Cross of Montana, Opportunity Resources and
Hellgate Amateur Radio Club.
"We were hoping that the Missoula Marathon would be profitable in its first
year, but we didn't know for sure it would happen," said Jennifer Boyer,
race director for the Missoula Marathon and president of Run Wild Missoula,
the local running club that puts on the event. "We told those
organizations that if we had money to donate back to them, we would. We're
thrilled that things worked out so well that we could fulfill our promise,
and of course one of the reasons the event was so successful is because of
these organizations. This is the running club's way of saying 'thank you'
not just for their help to us, but for their help to the community in
This year's Missoula Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, July 13, 2008.
