            2nd Annual Memorial Day Marathon Registration Now Open
 
July 30, 2010 Lenox, MA- Building on the success of the Inaugural Memorial 
Day Marathon, we are proud to announce that the 2nd Annual Memorial Day 
Marathon weekend will take place May 28-29, 2011 in Lenox, MA.  The weekend 
will once again feature the Memorial Day Marathon and Half-Marathon plus 
the Berkshires 10K and 5K races.  The races will start and finish at the 
iconic Tanglewood Music Center located in the picturesque Berkshires of 
Western Massachusetts. Additionally, there will be a pre-race expo on site 
the Saturday prior to race day. 
 
Registration for the races can be done through our website at 
www.memorialdaymarathon.com. All participants will receive a runner t-shirt 
and all full and half marathon finishers will receive personalized dog tag 
finisher medals, commemorating our US Service Men and Women. This year's 
races will include prize money and plaques for finishers of every age group 
including – 19 and under; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; and 60+.

The event will commemorate the tireless and selfless devotion of our US 
soldiers.  A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the 
Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.  We will once again work with members of the 
US Armed Forces based in Shindand, Afghanistan to organize a satellite 
event. Members of the military will be running full and half marathons at 
the airbase on Memorial Day Morning - 12 hours after the Memorial Day 
Marathon in Lenox, MA. Soldiers will receive finisher medals, t-shirts, 
race bibs and products from sponsors in the mail.  We expect to build on 
last year's 35 satellite race participants.
 
All races will take place on May 29, 2011 beginning at 8:00 AM with the 
Memorial Day Marathon and Half Marathon, followed by The Berkshires 10K and 
5K races at 8:20 AM.
