Part of Wilson Blvd. In Arlington "Marine Corps Marathon Drive"
Local Dignitaries to Unveil Temporary Street Signs October 21 In Rosslyn
Rosslyn, VA - Together with the Rosslyn Business Improvement District and
the Marine Corps Marathon, Arlington County will rename a block of Wilson
Boulevard "Marine Corps Marathon Drive" in honor of the upcoming annual
event. Arlington County Board Chair J. Walter Tejada, Rosslyn BID President
Mary-Claire Burick and Marine Corps Marathon Director Rick Nealis will
offer remarks at the street renaming ceremony at 3 p.m. at CentralSpace,
the "Polka Dot Park" located at the corner of Wilson Boulevard and N. Moore
Arlington County, home of the Marine Corps Marathon, has installed signs to
supplement permanent street signs along the block of Wilson Boulevard from
North Lynn Street to North Moore Street. The signs will be in place through
race day, Sunday, October 27. Each year thousands of Arlingtonians are
among the nearly 30,000 runners who take part in the Marine Corps Marathon,
Arlington County is proud to partner with the Marine Corps Marathon to
promote and execute this landmark annual event. The street renaming
signifies just how much the Marine Corps Marathon has become a part of our

represents the feeling of celebration and accomplishment more than walking
on Wilson Boulevard with a medal around your neck."

rename part of Wilson Boulevard 'Marine Corps Marathon Drive.' The renaming
anticipates a day that inspires and energizes us all, while also paying
tribute to our heroic U.S. Marines. On MCM day, Rosslyn is eager to welcome
runners and celebrate their accomplishments as the host of the Marine Corps
Marathon Finish Festival."
