Community First Fox Cities Marathon presented by Kimberly-Clark
Donates more than $70,000 to Local Charities
Appleton, Wis. (June 21, 2011) - More than $70,000 will help a number of
Fox Valley charities, thanks to a donation from the Community First Fox
Cities Marathon presented by Kimberly-Clark. Supporting and giving to the
community is an ongoing mission of the Marathon, which is a non-profit
organization itself.
Organizations benefiting from the donation include:
-YMCA of the Fox Cities - Strong Kids Fund
-Fox Valley Technical College Foundation
-UW-Fox Valley Foundation
-City of Neenah Fun Run Program
-Pacesetters of the Fox Cities
This year, at least seven Fox Valley high schools will receive $1,000
donations for their cross-country and track programs if they each provide
at least 50 volunteers on race weekend. In addition, St. Elizabeth
Hospital and Appleton Medical Center will receive donations for their
breast cancer education programs.
More than 8,000 participants are expected during the 21st annual weekend of
events, set for September 16-18, 2011:
-Community First Fox Cities Marathon
-ThedaCare Orthopedics Plus Half Marathon
-Orthopedic and Sports Institute Relay Marathon
-Time Warner Cable 5k Run/Walk
-Guardian Kids Fun Run
-Affinity Health and Wellness Expo
