  2006  CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield  Baltimore Half-Marathon Sells Out

Baltimore, MD – Corrigan Sports Enterprises (CSE) announced today that the 
2006 CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield Half-Marathon at the Under Armour 
Baltimore Running Festival has sold out for the third-straight year.  The 
announcement comes after organizers increased the number of participants 
from 3,500 to 4,500 this year. Last year, the race didn’t sell out until 
the middle of September. 

"The sell out illustrates how much this event has grown in six years," 
stated Corrigan Sports Enterprises President Lee Corrigan. "We could take 
even more half-marathoners but we want to make sure to execute and 
implement as well as possible for the runners.  That requires smart growth 
on our part."

Overall registration is up 27 percent compared to this time last year.  All 
the other races have passed their halfway points in terms of registration 
numbers.

The 2005 Under Armour Baltimore Running Festival, which consists of the 
Under Armour Baltimore Marathon, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield 
Half-Marathon, United Way 5K, Legg Mason Funds Team Relay and Kids’ Fun 
Run, will take place on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at M&T Bank Stadium.  
The event, now in its fifth year, has generated over 60 million dollars in 
revenue for the city and over 4 million dollars for local charities.

The Under Armour Baltimore Running Festival is produced by Corrigan Sports 
Enterprises, a leader in sports promotions in the Baltimore/Washington D.C. 
region.  Founded in 1991, CSE owns and operates the following events: Under 
Armour Baltimore Marathon, The Charm City Challenge All-Star Basketball 
Game, The Capital Classic, the Toyota Pro Beach Volleyball Tour, the Thrash 
& Jam Tour presented by Slammers Ultimate Milk and the annual Baltimore 
BikeJam event.
