Indiana's Mescal wins Andrew Jackson marathon

With about six miles to go, Indiana's Jeff Mescal believed he could run a personal best marathon and win the race. His time of 2 hours 45 minutes and 32 seconds was nearly 7 minutes ahead of a fading Josh Hite from Cookeville Tennessee.

Andrew Jackson Marathon this Saturday

The Andrew Jackson Marathon is the oldest marathon in Tennessee. The April 18th event held at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee will use the proceeds to support child abuse prevention. The marathon kicks of at 7 am.

Jackson native Findley wins Andrew Jackson Marathon

Jack Findley won his hometown marathon in 2 hours 53 minutes and 21 seconds to outdistance the other 87 runners in the marathon. Kris Whorton, 42, from Chattanooga, won the women's title in a time of 3 hours, 25 minutes and 59 seconds.

Possert Breaks Away To Win Andrew Jackson Marathon

Possert, 44, spent most of the race running with fellow Huntsville native Bryan Robinson before taking command at the 20-mile mark and recording a winning time of 2:58.26. Robinson placed second in 3:01.34.

Pair of West Tennesseans run to victory at Andrew Jackson Marathon

Lance Winders won his second marathon on Saturday when he finished the Andrew Jackson Marathon in his home state of Tennessee in 2:42:44.
Jackie Hazlehurst was the women's winner in 3:49:00.
The race drew 79 competitors to the Jackson course.
