(Lincoln Journal Star) Roxi Erickson of Omaha won her sixth straight women's title in Sunday's Lincoln Marathon in Nebraska. The 38-year-old finished in 2:53:10.
Joe Metcalf, 37, was the overall winner and took the men's field in 2:26:08. He last ran a marathon in the 1996 Olympic trials

Lincoln Marathon: Erickson, Giezentanner hope to repeat titles
(Lincoln Journal Star) Lee Giezentanner and Roxi Erickson - winners of last year's Lincoln/All Sport Marathon - return for this year's race on Sunday hoping for repeat.
Giezentanner expects to be challenged by the 2000 runner-up, Curt Rogers of Derby, Kan., one of 225 National Guard runners expected to compete. Rogers finished in 2:34:23 last year.
Lincoln's Mary Amen, runner-up last year in 3:10:35, might be the woman most likely to dethrone Erickson.
In September, at the Quad Cities Marathon in Iowa, Amen pulled even with Erickson in the last mile. But Erickson wound up third, about 20 seconds ahead of Amen, who finished fourth in 3:00:50.
