More than eight-thousand runners attended the second annual Pasadena Marathon. Mandy Grantz won the women's division with a time of 3 hours, 1 minute and 5 seconds. Mike Davies won the overall title with a time of 2 hours 42 minutes and 51 seconds.

The inaugural Pasadena Marathon was a success, with more than 9,000 runners participating in all the different events. Local long-distance coach Jacques Sallberg won in 2:25:49, and Leng Klukken won the women's race in 3:05:50.

The raging fires in Los Angeles Country forced the cancellation of the inaugural Pasadena Marathon. Race organizers made the decision to cancel the event two hours before the bike tour and marathon events were scheduled to begin. Organizers will meet in the next few days to reschedule the event.

   First Annual Pasadena Marathon sign-ups begin (Pasadena Star News)
The first annual Pasadena marathon, scheduled for November 16, will start and end in Old Towne Pasadena near Delacey and Green. Organizers initially opened the field to 15,000 participants. That number has since been reduced to a mere 8,000 and organizers expect it to fill quickly. The popularity of fall marathons should attract many runners to the area.
