Melloy wins Blue Nose Marathon by nearly seven minutes
(The Chronicle Herald Sports) Terry Melloy won the 5th annual Blue Nose Marathon with a time of 2 hours 48 minutes and 45 seconds on Sunday.The marathon ran through the streets of Halifax and Dartmouth. It was Melloy's seventh career marathon the Boston Marathon veteran claimed his fifth victory. Melloy, 48, won by nearly seven minutes over the runner up from Summerside, Scott Clark. Clark, who was second for the second straight, year in a time of 2:55.12 with a field of 262 runners.

Busy week ahead for race director of Blue Nose Marathon
(Nove Scotia News) Joachim Stroink, race director of the Blue Nose Marathon, expects seven thousand participants to the 2008 event. The Halifax businessman has been the volunteer race director for five years in which he watched the event grow. 2008 marks his last year in the role as he wants to focus with the charity with the Learning Disabilities Association which have helped his two children who have dyslexia and attention deficit disorder.
