Marathon man likes the challenge but what are the health risks?
(Bradenton Herald) It takes a healthy person to compete and complete a 100-mile endurance race. But make no mistake, racing 100 miles isn't at all good for one's body.
Marty McNamara finished his first - and probably last - 100-miler April 3-4, and it was only a few weeks ago he was back to full health. He's competed in more than 60 marathons and several 50-milers, but the 100-mile race was the most grueling of his life.
