(The China Post) Two hundred overweight policemen were among a thousand policemen in northern Taiwan who registered to take part in the 2008 Taipei Marathon. The National Police Agency currently promoting a "get lean by weight loss" program and encouraging all overweight policemen to get more exercise. African runners win ING Taipei International Marathon titles
(China Post) Kenya's Hillary Bett, a farmer and amateur runner, edged out Tanzania's Disdery Hombo and fellow Kenyan, Elijah Chemwolo, to win the men's race at the 2007 Taipei Marathon in 2:17:09. In the women's race Tabitha Tsatsa from Zimbabwe won in a 2:33:01. Race day included races of multiple distances along with the marathon and drew a record number of participants. 22,000 for the marathon and 110,000 for all the events which included a 21 km half-marathon, 9 km road run, 3 km fun run and 1 km run for children. | ||
