No record, but a win for Billey

Randy Billey won the 2008 Shiprock Marathon for the first time in four years in a finish of 2:52:53, edging out runner-up Heath Hibbard who finished in a 2:57:47, third place Justin Bronder in a 3:02:12 and defending champion, William Slim who was fourth in a 3:03:36. Forty-six year old Kay Evans won the women's race in 3:30:56 to hold off second-place Alyson Kreutzer (3:32:56) and third-place Robin Halloran (3:34:03).

Shiprock Marathon back, and better than ever

The 2008 Shiprock Marathon will mark its twenty-fifth anniversary. A pair of former pacesetters will compete against William Slim, the defending men's champ, and course record-holder Randy Billie, who posted a head-scratching time of 2:39:37 in 2004.
