Message:	-------------------- Steve's original posting: Hopefully by now you are fine otherwise you are really sick. "Marathon Fever" is normal. My wife and I often get it after marathons. If we are out of sync, she's hot when I feel cold and then 15 minutes later I am hot, she's cold and we are arguing over the thermostat setting. My guess is that it is caused by an imbalance of nutrients following the marathon. It could be a lack of vitamins, minerals or who knows. I don't get the fever as often as I used to. I try to ingest protein and carbs immediately after the marathon. If I am flying home post race then I take a multi-vitamin to ward off contagious infections since the immune system takes a hit. I try to eat a steak dinner the evening after the race and walk one or two miles. Eat well, rest well and you should be better by the next morning. 183 marathons/ultras
