For what it is worth, I don't think that Charity programs are the issue, it is what those people did. I am not sure what running a marathon for charity is all about; after all if I want to give money to cause X, why don't I just give the money? Why do I care if someone runs, walks or waddles for a particular distance? I can understand a race donating proceeds to a cause though.
Now I am at the slow end of all of this since I've become a walker (as in walking 100% of the race) but I've never had problems with time limits.
