to be blunt, 17 miles per week will probably not be enough to get you through a marathon without major PAIN...forget speed, tempo runs, etc. find a PLAN that gives you more miles per week, HalHigdon.com has some that many people have used to get them to the finish line... most plans have you run at least one 20 mile run during your training, that's more in one day than you've done in a week...
most people run their long runs 60-90 seconds per miles slower than their usual pace (some even slower than that)...but without a good base (more mpw) this doesn't even begin to make any sense... but maybe there's more to your story? how long have you been running?
