Hey! This is my first time posting here and I hope I've found the right place to connect. I live in Duluth, MN so I've run Grandma's, Twin Cities, etc., but want to run my first Chicago Marathon this fall. Unfortunately I do not have the financial resources to spring for two nights at a Chicago hotel. One of the big secrets in Duluth is that many runners stay at the dorms at the Univ. of MN Duluth (d.umn.edu) - are there any places anyone knows of that runners can just crash for the night, dorms, etc., near the start line? I plan just to get there, run, and head back home. I want to get some information now (I don't want to miss registration; at the same time I want to find out now how realistic this is so I can just sign up for the Twin Cities)...any help would be great....
