I've got some sweet NorthFace sandals I slip on after all my long runs. Something about getting those swollen wheels out of those restricting shoes.
That said...it took me a while to find a shoe that I worship. I've been lucky enough to find a shoe that just fits perfect. No blister nothing. Of course the pigs always start throbbing in the late miles...but never found changing shoes helped much. Unless of course rain or snow.
If it works for you then by all means do it. If time isn't a huge issue...it won't slow you that much. I like to lather up with some icy hot around mile 20. Probably a placebo...but it gets me through the last 6.2
