Hi Everyone, I've been an endurance athlete for about six years now. I ran in college and just graduated. I ran my first marathon this fall. The last few years during college I ran high miliage (70-80 miles a week). This summer while training for a marathon I have increased my miles to around 100. I expirienced weight gain that I have been unable to lose. Never had this problem during college while running. I did some research and found some stuff that says I might not be eating enough causing my body to go into starvation. This mad sense because I started running in the morning when I would wake up and didnt eat much before and during runs. Could the increased miliage be triggering my body to go into starvation mode thus hanging on to all my post run calories.
