Hey, sorry to hear about your labrum tear. My husband, who is 29, had exactly the same injury, he is a 3:10 11 time marathoner, also 155 and 5'10! Anyway, after the surgery, shaving down the bone and repairing the labrum, he was on crutches for weeks. It is very VERY important to give this very serious injury time to heal. A year later, he is able to run shorter distance races at about 20 seconds slower per mile than his pre-injury (i.e. 6:25 versus 6:05). However, long distances now give him serious pain. He doubts he'll ever run marathons as quickly or even if ever again. He still "feels" the hip. Not to be a downer, but I think you should know what you're getting into. He swears he should have never have gotten the surgery....
